from Kyra about Ghost Walker:
The song 'Ghost Walker' title and theme was inspired by one of my (Kyra) favourite naturalists: R.D. Lawrence (1921-2003), a Canadian wildlife author. He was an expert on the wildlife of Canada, on which he wrote more than thirty books, which have been published in 14 languages. For Interest:

One his books, non-fiction, 'Ghost Walker' is about his observations and interactions with a cougar in interior British Columbia.
If you haven't guessed yet, in the song 'Ghost Walker' -means a cougar.
It makes sense to me that cougars and other large predators and mammals are the true measurement of the balance of a healthy eco-system, if they are well, I think so are we.
I find the cougars far reaching geographic range and the belief that the cougar has never been extinct in this area intriguing, and believe it to be true (as did R.D. Lawrence who lived in Ontario) ... we rarely see them because they are the ghost walker in the woods.
I'd wanted to write a song about animals for years... but wasn't sure how to go about it.. the idea came when spending long periods of time with my family, at a house at Buck Lake, a special place to us, where we also lived in a cabin for a few years, before and after our son was born.
The Ghost Walker song roots were planted in the summer time at a Buck lake house on eighteen acres, overlooking the water. Then worked on the next autumn at another Buck Lake house over looking the water, then completed at Buck Lake at the same first house the following summer.
